MEDICAL UPDATE

Clean margins! My second surgery was on November 21 and Dr. K called me on the 26th to let me know that the margin was clear -aka cancer is OUT of my bodyz. Next stop will be radiation, likely to start at the end of December. And my oncologist confirmed that I will NOT have to do chemo. I was at Disneyland with my good friend Martha when I read the email from my oncologist and I burst into tears. Me and all the kids, crying over our chicken tenders and mac & cheese (no joke, that is legit what we ordered as a snack and it was bomb).

Second surgery done! Tessa spent the night with me (sister time). Another boob autograph from my doctor.... doctors and rockstars, haha.

CLEAN MARGIN RElief

When Dr. K called me, our conversation was EXACTLY what I had visualized "Hi Katharine, calling with some good news and something to be grateful for this week, your margin is clear!" Cue me not being able to talk because I started sobbing. The relief poured out.

I cried a lot that day. Knowing it was out of my body, knowing that now is time to heal, knowing that the hard part was over. I finally felt like I was on the downslope of the mountain I'd been trudging up the past two months. The weight of it that I was carrying mentally and physically lifted. I've have more energy, a drive to do hard workouts again and a relief that I can go "back to normal" a bit. I'm still healing (and crying sometimes) but the vortex I was in has evaporated and it feels amazing.

PRAYER WORKS

As I mentioned above, I visualized the exact conversation I had with my doctor and so much of what I had pure conviction about through my prayer.

The vision I have been holding...

• That the genetic testing come bask easy and favorable. That it’s clear and I am in the majority side where the results do not indicate any recurrence risk or high risk. PRAYER GRANTED

• That the lymph node they remove during surgery is clear, healthy and beautiful. PRAYER GRANTED

• That the lumpectomy is simple easy and has beautiful clean margins PRAYER GRANTED

• That my pathology shows the lowest grade, lowest stage and totally clean margins - Will be granted!

I've been prioritizing time with myself but also time with my friends/family and doing what truly lights me up. Disneyland, golf, beach walks, Torrey Pines hikes, time with family are all on the rotation.

This whole experience has also allowed me to really lean into the flow of life. There is so much waiting around for medical results that I was truly pushed into letting go and just allowing things to flow the way they are meant to. Allowing myself to not react to silly things that come up, observing from a neutral place, and then responding instead of reacting. It's a truly wonderful life lesson and I hope to continue to lean into this moving forward. Letting go of the need to control things, and just allowing myself to be led down the path that God has for me. Leading with love and from a place of love. 💜

We ask for prayers for healing and clarity and if you'd like to make a financial contribution, I'm tracking donations. Our parents raised Katharine and I to tithe to charities of our choice. That's carried us into adulthood and we both still donate to people in need, many times without even knowing the person. I know this goodness would one day come back to us if needed <3.

Katharine fully supports herself as she owns her own business and there are a lot of costs and a lot of unknowns for future costs. Her copay for one appointment alone can vary from $90 - $230. If people would like to help, we are gratefully accepting contributions towards her medical bills, time lost not working, and for auxiliary testing and treatments to help bring her into perfect health. We will be doing testing (out-of-pocket costs) to explore more root cause potentials for why she has had thyroid cancer and now breast cancer within a year.
